Los Sueños: The Dreams exists because we believe the dream of homeownership should be an attainable reality for hardworking island residents. Our future homeowners make an investment to build a better home and future for their families. Through committed partnerships, the initiative of homeowners, and the support of neighbors, the Los Sueños: The Dreams development is about more than providing houses – it is about building a community.

Your future community has a park, library, school, church and plenty of greenspace for your and your family. We help you through the loan and purchase process, provide homeownership education and community activities once you’re here. Owning a home has never been more possible than with Abundant Life Foundation!
Who is eligible?
Applications are now open. Los Sueños: The Dreams is generally open to families and individuals who meet the following minimum requirements:
- Native islander or resident of Roatán for 7+ years
- Minimum 12 months of stable employment
- No criminal record
- Maximum 5 people per home
- Monthly salary from L. 15,000 to L. 40,000
Steps to Homeownership
Step #1
Contact the ALF office in Flowers Bay to get information and to complete your pre-qualification form.
Step #2
Submit references, criminal background check, income verification, and proof of 7+ years of residency.
Step #3
Schedule and conduct home interview with ALF staff members.
Step #4
An anonymous committee, representing various communities in Roatán, reviews applicants on a scaled matrix. Selected applicants complete the remaining steps.
Step #5
Review requirements and review the restrictions of the community with an ALF representative.
Step #6
Begin commitment of 40 hours of sweat equity, showing investment in the project.
Step #7
Complete finance and home ownership classes.
Step #8
Complete the bank mortgage loan application.
Step #9
Pay down payment and sign closing documents.
Step #10
Receive keys to your home and move in!
